Loud & Proud/Roadrunner Records has announced the signing of a worldwide deal with legendary American rock outfit Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band is already at work in Nashville recording a new album to be released later this year. This will be the first set of new studio material since 2003's Vicious Cycle. Singer Johnny Van Zant comments, "Skynyrd has been with a lot of labels over the years and we are excited to be reunited with one of the best, Tom Lipsky and his new label Loud & Proud. We're busy putting the finishing touches on our next record being produced by Bob Marlette and can't wait for the fans to hear it." He goes on to say, "Our brother Billy Powell recorded 6 tracks before his sudden passing and we are confident he'd be very happy with the end result. We're all really proud of this record and who better to put it out than Loud & Proud!"
