Release date set for 'lost' Beach Boys LP

The original recordings for the Beach Boys' legendary "lost" album Smile are to be released this autumn, 44 years after it was first due to come out. The Smile sessions were recorded in 1966, but the album was left unfinished after the group's co-founder Brian Wilson suffered an emotional breakdown.

Apple rolls out beta of iTunes Match for developers

iTunes Match, the iTunes portion of Apple's iCloud was rolled out as a developer beta last night. The service scans a user's local library of music files and mirrors the content on an iCloud server so it can be accessed on any connected device. The service will cost $24.99 per year and let users store as many as 25,000 songs

Naxos Music Library subscribers now have access to the recordings of EMI Classics, Virgin Classics and Blue Note Records

Naxos Music Library has announced the addition of the EMI Classical and Jazz catalog to its streaming audio collection. This vast catalog of recordings includes EMI Classics, Virgin Classics and Blue Note Records. On August 19, more than 200 albums were made available to subscribers with the remainder of the 7200 album catalog available by the end of 2011. New releases will be added as they occur
