The Who's legendary cult rock opera Quadrophenia is being brought to the stage for the first time. The new musical, based on the band's classic 1973 album and subsequent film, will embark on a UK tour in Plymouth on 11 May 2009. Set in London and Brighton at the height of the Mod era, Quadrophenia is told through the eyes of Jimmy, a hedonistic, style-conscious teenager who embarks on a life-changing trip to Brighton. The 1979 film, which became a cult hit, starred Sting, Phil Daniels, Leslie Ash, Toyah Wilcox and a young Ray Winstone.
