UK radio station opens playlist to developers

Independent radio station Absolute Radio has published data describing its playlist online, in the hope that software developers will use it to build innovative applications. "We want you to do something exciting with our data," the station says on its website. "That's why we're giving you free access to the Absolute Radio playlist in a variety of formats." The data is available as an RSS feed, and in XML and JSON formats. The station has also integrated its playlist data with Facebook and Apple's iTunes music software, allowing listeners "to build [their] own playlists and download them directly from iTunes"
