"A police force is to review the death of Rolling Stones guitarist Brian Jones, 40 years since he was found lifeless in a swimming pool. Sussex Police said the force had been handed documents connected with Jones's death which would be examined, but added it was too early to say if a fresh investigation would be launched. Jones was found dead aged 27 in his swimming pool at Cotchford Farm, Hartfield, East Sussex, in July 1969. An inquest recorded a verdict of death by misadventure, but speculation has continued that he was murdered. Journalist Scott Jones, who collated the papers but is not related to the late musician, told The Mail On Sunday: "There is no time limit on the review. But after 40 years of mystery, anyone who values Brian's reputation will be happy to wait for the outcome." A Sussex Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that Sussex Police received papers from an investigative journalist in relation to the death of Brian Jones. "These papers will be examined by Sussex Police, but it is too early to comment at this time as to what the outcome will be." Jones, a founder member of the Rolling Stones, was regarded to have lived a drink- and drug-fuelled lifestyle while with the band." - Yahoo
