Tribute is being paid to Les Paul, who died aged 94, by musicians around the world, with guitarist Joe Satriani calling him 'the original guitar hero' and Brian Wilson crediting him with inventing the Beach Boys sound. Paul was a musician, playing 'hillbilly' and Jazz from his teens until his 90s, and inventor - one of the pioneers of the solid body electric guitar and credited with the invention (or discovery) of overdubbing, tape delay, phasing effects, and multitrack recording. His most iconic legacy, is of course, the Gibson Les Paul.
