Mike Edwards was driving along the side of a steep field when the 94 stone (600kg) bale careered down, smashed through a hedge and landed on the roof of his vehicle. The 62-year-old, who played cello with the 1970s group, is thought to have swerved into a similar vehicle as he was struck by the bale. The second driver was unhurt in the collision, police said.
