Clear Channel launches Music On-Demand

Clear Channel Communications Inc. has announced plans to begin testing a free, music video-on-demand service as part of a strategy to bolster its Internet presence. The advertising supported service will be free to users. Between 2,000 to 3,000 music videos from artists at Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group will be featured on some of its radio station Web sites and a third music label is likely to join, although a deal has not been finalized, according to company sources. The launch is part of a restructuring of its Internet properties across the nation. Last year, the radio company began offering site viewers originally produced interviews and shows with musicians. Clear Channel has also begun to offer downloadable podcasts
